According to legend, the village of Medveja was named after a female figure from the Greek mythology, who is said to have bathed first on the beautiful large gravel beach. Once this was just a fishing village, but soon it grew into a true small pearl, known for its special and top quality holiday experience. Recently, the trail through the Učka Natural Park Učka was opened and the guests are welcome to enjoy in the pristine nature. In Medveja there is a large campground, a smaller hotel and many homes which offer holiday accommodation. Medveja is located in the heart of the Riviera about 2 km from Lovran and 8 km from Opatija.
